O2 has replaced the voicemail system with a newer platform. The new platform offers an improved Visual Voicemail function and therefore it is necessary to install this new Visual Voicemail Client. This new client is not compatible with the old voicemail system. The old o2 Voicemail client will work until the mailbox is migrated from the old to the new system. After the mailbox has been migrated to the new system, the o2 Voicemail users will be informed that they have to install this client in order to continue using the service. When starting the VVM client for the first time, the mobile phone must be logged into the o2 network. In order to be able to use the VVM client, the client must register with Voicemail.
